Episode 8: Blood in the Garden
The Tuttles are faced with a huge twist of fate. A note from Highgarden puts Lord Paxter Redwyne, one the Tuttle’s new trading partners, into their custody, and preferably into the dungeons. But the Tuttles are doing things differently and are moving slowly on Highgarden’s orders. Meanwhile, the cogs of war are turning unceasingly, and it is a matter of time before Tannenhall must make a decision that will forever change the course of the family’s fotunes. Will the choice be the right one? Will Maera and Simeon be able to influence Lord Tuttle in making the right decision — whatever that may be? This is the final episode of the season and it promises to be full of excitement.
Lord Tuttle again passes on the reins of rulership to Maera. Lord Tuttle in the meantime plans an escort for Ser Kelvan Cuy back to Oldtown. In her turn, Maera negotiates Lord Redwyne’s accommodations. Still a youthful diplomat, Maera concedes to Lord Redwyne’s demands.
Taking Dylan and Evan with him, Lord Tuttle takes two of the Tuttle navy ship and sails off toward Oldtown. In the Redwyne Straits, Lord Tuttle meets up with Tyrell ships headed for The Arbor. Sending Lord Kelvan on to Oldtown, Lord Tuttle has supper with the Captain of the Tyrell ships, who seems to be oblivious to any troubles between the Tyrells and the Redwynes. Afterwards, Lord Tuttle turns back towards Shell Island… (the rest of this story will be told in the Season 2 opening)
The Tuttles worst fears are about to come to fruition – picking sides in an upcoming war that will prove to be bloody and most certainly bad for business. With Lord Tuttle on the run from the Redwyne navy – the largest of any in the Seven Kingdoms – House Tuttle faces a difficult time navigating out of the situation that they have placed in. Will Lord Redwyne be forgiving, or is all the good will that was earned in the past few months be erased? What will happen in the next season of Players and Pieces?
